Effective 2026-09-04

Stack Quest is a learning app by Human Quest LLC. This page explains what the app stores and why.

What we store

  • Your learning progress (sessions completed, answers, hints used, XP, streak, skill schedule) is stored on your device. If the app can reach our backend, an anonymous account is created so the same progress document can be backed up to Google Firebase (Firestore) and restored on reinstall.
  • Anonymous usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): counts such as sessions started and answers submitted, device model and OS version. Never the code you write or free text you type. You can turn analytics off in Settings.
  • Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) to fix bugs.
  • Problem reports you send from an exercise, with the exercise id and your message. A report can include a screenshot and an email address only if you choose to attach them; reports are filed as issues on our private GitHub project.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell data or show ads.
  • We do not collect your name, email or contacts unless you choose to sign in with an account.
  • Code you write in exercises runs on your device and is not sent anywhere.

Your controls

  • Export a JSON copy of your progress from Settings.
  • Delete everything from Settings. This erases the device copy, the cloud copy and the account.
  • Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device and can be turned off in Settings.

This website

The beta page asks for an email address only to send a TestFlight invite; it is stored on our Firebase project and deleted on request. The feedback button files what you type, the page address and your browser details as a GitHub issue. The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
